It's interesting, well scripted, and keeps me wanting more. One of the reasons I like it so much, beyond the fascinating and mysterious characters, the cinematography and costumes, and the expert acting, is that the fictional story line is wrapped around historical events. As your typical American male in 2012, if you'd have told me I would get into a period piece about an aristocratic, early 1900's English family and their servants, you would have been talking to a doubtful person.It just goes to show that setting doesn't matter nearly as much as writing, acting, and especially character development.
